Sustainability policy/management

We have played a leading role in putting sustainable development principles into practice. Relevant work has included:

• Establishing for the first time what 'living within environmental limits' would entail for the South East of England through rigorous research and consultation
• With Michael Jacobs and Ian Christie, research and preparation of an extended think piece about the relationship between consumption, wellbeing, choice and eco-efficiency for the Sustainable Development Commission;
• Critically analysing progress against the Government's headline sustainability indicators, for the Sustainable Development Commission
• Carrying out a short study for the CPRE on the links between planning and business growth and competitiveness
